My new year's resolution involves trying new restaurants in the Sacramento area. I even decided to train for the San Francisco half marathon so I can build up my appetite for meals. It's always a shame when good dinner plans go to waste because I'm not hungry enough.
On January 1 (promptness has no place on my list of New Year's resolutions), Ben and I had brunch with our friends James and Juliet at the Shady Lady. I had blueberry pancakes and an iced tea! I don't even remember what everyone else had because my pancakes came with cinnamon sugar butter. Why have I never heard of this before? Why is it not mandatory that all pancakes are served with blueberries and cinnamon sugar butter?

This past week I learned how to make tortillas and painted my nails with this glitter nail polish. My Fun Friday baked good was a Lemon Blueberry scone (my second favorite), and I only went to Doughbot once this week. I think I still have a chance of the people working there not knowing who I am and what I'm going to order. I enrolled in a Plant Breeding class and I have homework for the first time in one whole year. I watched too much tv and then I had a dream I was a Sons of Anarchy, Redwood Original member. I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D with Erin and the new Mission Impossible movie with Ben. Oh and I ate a Costco sized bag of dried mango.
Since January 1 I haven't really had a brunch, just a trip to Doughbot on the way to Grandma's in San Leandro last weekend, and another trip to Doughbot the day after San Leandro for some blueberry cornmeal donuts. I should really consider a blueberry-related subtitle for this blog post, I just can't stop talking about them.
