At least, that's what I think it should be called. Lately I've been thinking of changing my blog into a dream blog because my life is so boring and my dreams are not boring. But this weekend was so crazy.
First I left work after a half-day Friday to go hang out with my dad in Berkeley. We went to Barney's for cheeseburgers and fries, then to Philz for coffee, and then we walked around Telegraph until it was time for my tattoo appointment with Ali, the best tattoo artist. Here's a picture of my new arm-art.
The top is a plum, from William Carlos Williams' poem "This is just to say." Thanks to Samantha for introducing me to the poem years ago.
The bottom is a tattoo of an onion, from a story in Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
Yes, they're permanent. My dad sat through the entire appointment with me and even watched the onion come into existence.
After the tattoo experience, Dad and I went to the Encinal High School football game and then to Grandma's for our favorite meal. I went back to Sacramento full, happy, and with a sore arm.
On Saturday I didn't do anything. I almost saw [little] Pete of The Adventures of Pete and Pete, because he was playing at a house show in Sacramento, but then I decided I should be asleep instead. I knew I'd need to rest up for the shopping extravaganza that was going to occur with Jessica on Sunday.
Little did I know that the "extravaganza" should have been called an "EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!!," because any sane human being should be ashamed to buy as many things as we bought at the Vacaville Premium Outlets on Sunday. Sorry Jessica, but you know it's true. Good thing we don't live very close, because that was a dangerous amount of shopping. We did find time to bond over our new tattoos by our amazing tattoo artist.
Today I started packing up my apartment because I'm moving this week, and brought Ben lunch at Records, where the in-house cat kindly reminded me that I forgot to take my allergy medicine. Then I painted my nails.
To conclude, my top 5 favorite things from this weekend:
1. Hanging out with my Dad!!!
(2-5 in no particular order)
2. Philz coffee
3. Tattoos
4. Rationalizing purchases with Jessica
5. This quote from Ben: "Are you blogging about relaxing again?"
