Just learn how to Play - Lab music: Music to grind (lygus heads) to!

At work this week, I basically struck gold, as far as mixed cds go.  Either a two-volume-burned-cd-set-with-an-ironic-title-and-repeated-songs screams early 2000s, or the mystery person who burned this cd and gave it to my great-great-great-great predecessor and I have a lot in common.

I am under the impression that my lab has gone through a number of personnel over the years, and traces of their presence remain on/in/around the lab benches where I work.  I was rummaging through the hoarded items that have been left on my desk for the past TWENTY THREE YEARS (evidence coming later) and I ran into a cd titled "Just learn how to Play - Lab music: Music to grind (lygus heads) to!"  It makes sense to me, but for the sake of unnecessary boredom, I won't explain.  Here's the track list:

1. Unknown
2. Two Step - Dave Matthews Band
3. Hot - Black Eyed Peas
4. Tell Me, Tell Me... Baby - 'N Sync
5. Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
6. Cailin - Unwritten Law
7. Breaking the Habit - Linkin Park
8. 0% Interest - Jason Mraz
9. Why Georgia - John Mayer
10. Unknown
11. Lost Cause - Beck
12. Hey Girl - O.A.R.
13. We Both Reached For The Gun - Chicago (musical)
14. No Strings Attached - 'N Sync
15. I'm Diggin It - Alicia Elliot
16. Unknown
17. Travelin' Soldier - Dixie Chicks
18. Heaven - Live

Disc 2:
1. Travelin' Soldier - Dixie Chicks
2. Heaven - Live
3. Tired of You - Foo Fighters
4. Banditos - The Refreshments
5. Love for Me - Guster
6. Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
7. X - Xzibit
8. Ruff Ryders Anthem - DMX
9. Bitch Please - Snoop Dog
10. Americana - The Offspring
11. The Stone - Dave Matthews Band

My favorite parts about this track list are the three repeated songs on disk 2, and the fact that all the repeated songs were very depressing.  Also, I think I also made a cd with a Jason Mraz song followed by a John Mayer song in the mid-2000s.  What a coincidence.

And here's something else I found on my desk:

This mixtape was made 3 months and 1 day after I was born.  All the songs are awesome; I wish I had a tape player.

Oh yeah I had brunch last weekend at Capitol Garage again (Saturday).  The new food score is a 9.  The potatoes were way better.  I had a Curried Sea Benedict that was amazing.  Also I found out that they have bacon jam, which is really weird.  For some reason, people watching at Capitol Garage is really fun.  On a scale from Harry and David to Schlitterbahn, the fun level is about a 6.5.  On Sunday I had brunch at Freeport Bakery.  I had peanut butter cookies and chocolate chip cookies.
